How to Review Articles on Scholar9?
I need detailed steps to ensure a smooth review process.
1 Answer
Step 1: Selecting the Right Area of Interest in Your Profile
- Ensure your profile accurately reflects your expertise, research interests, and skills.
- Journal publishers assign papers based on these details.
- Include all your published research work with DOI (if available) to increase your chances of receiving review assignments.
Step 2: Regularly Check for Review Assignments
- Log in to your Scholar9 account and check the Reviewer Dashboard under the Home tab.
- You will receive an email notification from hello@scholar9.com whenever a new assignment is allocated.
- The email includes a direct link to your Reviewer Dashboard for quick access.
Step 3: Handling Review Assignments in the "Home" Tab
- The Home tab displays all assigned review tasks with key details like paper title, journal name, paper ID, and plagiarism status.
- You have two response options:
- ✅ Accept – If the paper matches your expertise, proceed with the review and download the full paper using the “Download PDF” button.
- ❌ Reject – If the paper is outside your field or you are unavailable, provide a reason (e.g., "Not my area of expertise" or "Unavailable for review"). The assignment will then move to the Rejected tab.
Step 4: Start the Review
- After accepting a review request, click the “Detail” button on the article’s card to access the full paper and review options.
- On this page, you’ll find details such as:
- Title, authors, journal name, paper ID, plagiarism status, and deadline.
- A quick review guide and a chat window to communicate with the journal publisher.
- Submit your final review decision through the chat window.
Step 5: Submitting the Review
🔹 Revision Request (If Needed):
- If revisions are necessary, select "Revision Required" and provide feedback through written comments or screenshots.
- The assignment will remain in the Home tab until revisions are addressed.
🔹 Final Review Submission:
- After evaluating the paper based on key parameters:
- Relevance & Originality
- Methodology
- Validity & Reliability
- Clarity & Structure
- Results & Analysis
- Choose one of the final decisions:
- ✅ Approved – Paper is suitable for publication.
- ❌ Not Approved – Paper does not meet required standards.
- A star rating system will appear based on predefined evaluation criteria.
- To complete the review:
- ✅ Select Approved or Not Approved.
- ✅ Add final remarks in the comments section.
- ✅ Provide a star rating based on the evaluation.
- The reviewed article will then move to the Awaiting tab for publisher feedback.
Step 6: Wait for the Publisher's Feedback
- The Awaiting tab contains reviewed papers pending the publisher’s final comments.
- Check regularly to view their feedback and the star rating they assign to your review.
- Once the publisher provides their rating and decision, the entry will move to the Archived tab, marking the review process as complete.
Step 7: Download the Certificate & Appreciation Letter
🏆 Reviewer Certificate:
- Confirms your role as an authorized and permanent reviewer on Scholar9.
📜 Appreciation Letter:
- Includes details of your completed review tasks, such as:
- Scholar9 profile link
- Journal page link & ISSN
- Reviewed article title
- Open link to review comments and communication logs
