Research Hypothesis
A research hypothesis is a testable statement predicting the relationship between variables, providing a foundation for investigation. It includes key components such as independent and dependent variables, the specific population being studied, and the anticipated direction of the relationship. There are two main types: the null hypothesis (H0), which asserts no effect or relationship, and the alternative hypothesis (H1), which posits that an effect exists. For instance, a hypothesis might state that "Students who sleep at least 8 hours per night will have higher GPA scores than those who sleep less than 6 hours." This framework guides research design and analysis.
