About

Peter Ong is a consultant cardiologist from the Department of Cardiology and Angiology, Robert-Bosch-Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany. He is a board certified specialist in internal medicine and cardiology. Additional qualifications include intensive care medicine and interventional cardiology (percutaneous coronary interventions and transcatheter aortic valve implantation). His clinical research interest focuses on patients with angina and unobstructed coronary arteries. Together with his research team, Dr. Ong has published several studies on the usefulness of acetylcholine provocation testing for the diagnosis of coronary vasomotor disorders in various clinical settings. Together with the wire-based assessment of coronary flow reserve “invasive diagnostic procedures” have been established for clinical (research) purposes. Current and future studies will focus on the usefulness of these diagnostic assessments resulting in new endotypes of disease and their impact for targeted pharmacotherapy.
