Professor Juan-Carlos Kaski DSc, MD, DM (Hons), FRCP, FESC, FHFA, FRSM, FACC, FAHA, is Professor of Cardiovascular Science (Emeritus), St George’s, University of London, UK, and Past-Director of the Cardiovascular and Cell Sciences Research Institute at St George’s, University of London, United Kingdom. He is also Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at St George’s University Teaching Hospitals, NHS Trust, and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. Prof Kaski is Chairman of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal, Editor-in-Chief of European Cardiology Review Journal and Editor of the European Society of Cardiology Handbook on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy. JC Kaski is Fellow of over 30 scientific societies worldwide, Doctor Honoris Causa of several universities, a recipient of the Gold Medal of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, and a past-President of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy (ISCP) JC Kaski is Professor of Cardiovascular Science at St George’s, University of London (SGUL), Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at St George’s Hospital, London, and Director of the Cardiovascular and Cell Sciences Research Institute at SGUL. Prof Kaski is Doctor of Science, University of London, Doctor Honoris Causa of several universities worldwide, a Past President of ISCP (International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy) and a Fellow of over 30 scientific societies worldwide. He is Editor in Chief of European Cardiology Reviews, Associated Editor of Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy and a member of the editorial board of JACC, the European Heart Journal and over 20 other scientific journals. Professor Kaski’s research areas include mechanisms of coronary artery disease progression, inflammatory and immunological mechanisms of atherosclerosis, microvascular and vasospastic angina and biomarkers of cardiovascular risk. Prof Kaski has published over 400 papers in peer-review journals, over 200 invited papers and more than 130 book chapters. He has also edited eight books on cardiovascular topics and is Editor-in-Chief of the ISCP Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy book series. Consultant Cardiologist at St George’s Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. He is Doctor Honoris Causa of several universities worldwide, a past-President of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy and Fellow of over 30 scientific societies worldwide. JC Kaski has received numerous national and international awards for his research work and both his clinical and educational activities. Professor Kaski is Chairman-elect, European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, Editor-in-Chief of the European Cardiology Review Journal, Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal, Co-Editor of the ESC Handbook on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy and editorial board member of JACC and over 20 other scientific journals. Prof Kaski’s research areas include inflammatory and immunological mechanisms of atherosclerosis, microvascular and vasospastic angina, INOCA and MINOCA, biomarkers of cardiovascular risk and management of angina pectoris. He has authored over 600 scientific papers on these topics in peer review journals and edited 10 books.
