Dr. Dipak Vitthal Pinjari is an esteemed academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Polymer and Surface Engineering at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Since joining the institution on March 4, 2013, he has significantly contributed to the field of sustainable and environmental engineering. His research interests encompass a diverse range of areas, including process intensification, cavitation engineering, nanomaterials synthesis, polymers, sonochemistry, and paint technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, focusing on cavitation-based nanoparticle synthesis, and an M.Tech in Polymer Engineering and Technology with a specialization in CNSL-based phenolic resins and composites. His postdoctoral research, completed in 2014, involved the synthesis of organic derivatives for solar cell applications. Additionally, he earned his B.Tech in Polymer Engineering and Technology in 2004. Throughout his career, Dr. Pinjari has been committed to imparting knowledge, teaching courses such as Analytical Chemistry, Introduction to Polymer Engineering, and Advanced Materials. His research endeavors include several significant projects funded by prestigious organizations. Notable among them are the development of nanocontainers for active corrosion protection, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, and the preparation of paint formulations for wood and leather applications, supported by the Department of Revenue Intelligence. He has also handled consultancy projects, including investigations into fruit juice ingredients for Unilever Research Center and analyzing tablet formulations for Famy Care Ltd. Dr. Pinjari’s collaborative efforts with industry underscore his ability to bridge academic research and practical applications, enhancing the scope of technological innovations. With over a decade of teaching and research experience, Dr. Pinjari has also served in various capacities, including Research Associate and DST Inspire Faculty Fellow at ICT Mumbai. As a Fulbright Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology, he further broadened his expertise by contributing to international research initiatives. He is a valued member of professional societies, including the Fulbright Alumni Advisory Committee and the UDCT Alumni Association.
