Dominic Melendrez, RPSGT, is a highly experienced registered sleep technologist and an expert in clinical and behavioral sleep medicine with over two decades of experience in the field. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of New Mexico, he has dedicated his career to diagnosing, researching, and treating sleep disorders, specializing in sleep breathing disorders, insomnia, nightmares, and mental health-related sleep problems. He is widely recognized for developing the Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) Nap procedure, a method used to help patients overcome anxiety related to PAP therapy. Mr. Melendrez has worked extensively in both clinical and research settings, contributing to the advancement of sleep medicine through numerous co-authored research articles, presentations, and workshops. His leadership experience includes co-founding one of the largest sleep center networks in the Southwest and serving as Chairman and CEO of Quality Sleep Solutions, Inc., where he expanded access to high-quality sleep medicine care in rural and underserved communities. Additionally, he has worked with multiple sleep centers, including the University of New Mexico Hospital Sleep Disorders Center, High Plains Sleep Disorders Center, and St. Thomas Sleep Center in the U.S. Virgin Islands, providing diagnostic and treatment services for adult and pediatric patients. As a research consultant at the Sleep & Human Health Institute, he played a crucial role in investigating innovative treatments for insomnia, PTSD-related sleep disorders, and sleep breathing physiology. His expertise in polysomnography led to his appointment to the Polysomnography Practice Advisory Committee of the New Mexico Medical Board, advising on regulatory and practice standards in sleep technology. Certified as a Licensed Polysomnographic Technologist since 2010 and a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist since 2003, Mr. Melendrez has also been an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the New Mexico Sleep Society. His contributions to the field have been acknowledged in publications such as *Sound Sleep, Sound Mind* by Dr. Barry Krakow, reflecting his significant impact on sleep disorder treatment and research. In 2014, he founded Fiducia, LLC, a sleep medicine clinical and research consulting firm, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field. Beyond his professional career, Mr. Melendrez enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, engaging in outdoor adventures, playing the guitar, and serving as a music director for his church.
