About
After completing my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, I'm interested in a career in academia. My interest lies in studying the parenting among different cultures and societies and how the trends that person experiences, observes and learns during their own childhood are repeated or discarded when they become parents. I wish to examine the effects of early life experiences on the development of an individual's personality and his attitudes which would determine his behaviour in social settings and maintaining interpersonal relationships. For this, I propose an in-depth interview and assessment with the subjects using comprehensive analysis techniques to gain a deeper insight into the thought process of the subjects and arrive at a conclusion which is free from bias and is objective. With this I intend to develop important recommendations for the parents and guide them for the better development of their child. Using various statistical analyses, I intend to develop ways to develop healthy environment for holistic growth of an individual and drive the society towards a peaceful and harmonious life.

- Supervisor: Dr. A.A.S. Azam, Assistant Professor, Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences, Amity University, Haryana Topic: Relationship between Attachment Styles and Self -esteem: as mediated by Emotion regulation Description: The topic was inspired by the changing dynamic of relationships in the pandemic and hopes to find out if the relationship between three types of attachment styles (secure, ambivalent -insecure and avoidant -insecure) and self -esteem is mediated by strategies of emotion regulation (cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression). Design of the research was Non -experimental, cross -sectional and correlational with the sampling techniques Purposive and Snowball. SPSS v. 20 was utilized for the analysis with an added macro -PROCESS v3.5.3 ( Hayes, 2017). Stem -and-Leaf Plot was used to identify the outliers in a data set and outliers were identified and removed from the sheet. According to the results, Expressive Suppression significantly mediates the relationship between secure attachment styles and global self -esteem, apart from this, ambivalent insecure and avoidant -insecure attachment styles had a direct impact on global self -esteem.
