Industrial Engineering focuses on the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems involving people, materials, and equipment. It leverages specialized knowledge from the mathematical, physical, and social sciences, along with principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate system outcomes. The Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), established in 1957 as a non-profit organization and a Registered Society under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950, is committed to promoting the profession of Industrial Engineering in India. Dedicated to advancing education and practice in the field, the Institution supports the application of scientific knowledge to improve management across various industries. IIIE operates through thirty-four chapters across India and conducts a Graduateship Examination recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. The Institution also confers several honors and awards for significant achievements and contributions to the profession.
