Venture Studio - Ahmedabad University

VentureStudio is a startup incubation centre at Ahmedabad University. It was established in 2011 in collaboration with Stanford University Design School. Since inception, the Centre has supported over 100 startups in diverse technological domains suc 100 startups in diverse technological domains such as Healthcare, BioTechnology, Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Engineering, Industry 4.0, and Deep Tech Software Technologies. In 2017, the Centre was chosen to support BioIncubation activities in Gujarat by the Department of BioTechnology. VentureStudio also hosts the Prayas Shala Fab Shop as well as the Bio-NEST Biotechnology Lab to provide solid infrastructure support to upcoming startups. As one of the oldest incubation centres in Gujarat - VentureStudio carries a wealth of experience in providing 360° support to startups ranging from pre-seed grants or funding, personalised mentoring through a network of domain experts, access to cutting-edge facilities for product development, market access, team-building assistance, and support for follow-on angel and VC financing. The Centre is managed by a team of professionals with solid technology, industry, and investment expertise. This has led to a stellar track record of 60 active startups, more than INR 15 crore in revenue, 19 IPRs, and over INR 10 crore of follow-on funds raised. The Centre dedicatedly maintains a startup-centric culture where all the activities are conceptualised, designed, and executed with a single-minded focus of supporting startups. It also understands the importance of co-incubation to provide the best possible support to its startups. Hence, it works positively with other incubation centres and stakeholders to create an overall thriving startup ecosystem in Gujarat. To encourage students to become entrepreneurs, the Centre runs VentureStudio Fellowship, a semester-long programme to equip students with tools, frameworks, and skills to successfully start an innovation-driven venture. VentureStudio is a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) approved by the National Science Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), an approved Bio-NEST facility for bio-incubation by the Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), as well as an approved Nodal Agency under the Government of Gujarat Startup Policy. ...view more
