About Université Nazi BONI (UNB)
The Nazi BONI University (formerly the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso) was created on September 19, 1995, by Decree No. 95-340/PRES/MESSRS. It was a Polytechnic University Center (CUP) with a professional and technical vocation. The CUP was a professional and technical vocation. The CUP was created from transfers from the Institute of Rural Development (IDR), the Higher School of Computer Science (ESI), and the University Institute of Technology (IUT), in Bobo-Dioulasso. It thus functioned for the first two years of its opening as a university center under the administrative and educational responsibility of a Vice-Rector of the University of Ouagadougou, before being established as a university from 1997. Indeed, on May 16, 1997, the CUP was transformed into a university by adoption of decree no. 97-254/PRES/PM/MESSRS. The CUP then becomes the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso (UPB) and will be named in the name of the Nazi BONI University (UNB) on May 9, 2017. The Nazi BONI University (formerly the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso) has both training offers: general training and professional training. Access to general training is by examination of the file and that of professional training is by competitive examination. Nowadays, the Nazi BONI University has seven (07) establishments: Institute of Rural Development (IDR), the University Institute of Technology (IUT), the Higher School of Computer Science (ESI), the Higher Institute of Sciences of Health (INSSA), the Training and Research Unit in Sciences and Technology (UFR/ST), the Training and Research Unit in Legal, Political, Economic and Management Sciences (UFR/SJPEG), the 'Science Training and Research Unit in Humanities, Letters, Arts and Communication (UFR/SH-LAM). Alongside its establishments, two sectors of the Polytechnic University Center of Gaoua are attached: Applied Biological Sciences (SBA) and Cultural and Tourist Heritage Management (GPCPC).
