Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce was established by a visionary named Shri Balarambhai Kshatyitriya in the year 1964 as Municipal Arts and Commerce College. This college is named after Shri Varanasidas Ranchhoddas Patel who donated a huge amount sidas Ranchhoddas Patel who donated a huge amount in order to establish this college and hence the name of the college is Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce, Mehsana.. It came into existence as a separate commerce college on 15th June, 1986 with the motive of imparting high quality education in the emerging and occupational areas of trade and commerce. The college is presently managed by Sardar Vidyabhavan Trust, Mehsana under the exemplary leadership of a well-known politician, a renowned industrialist and a four-sighted educationist named Shri Arvindbhai Patel, the Managing Trustee Shri K. K. Patel, the Treasurer Shri Jayantibhai Patel and all kind-hearted trustees. Every year library conducts N-List e-resources orientation program especially for P. G. students. We give the full guidance to the students how they can access N-List e-resources on projector. We give them live demonstration to how they active their account in N-List and how they can download full text book. Because of this initiative our college becomes 2 times Top User of N-List in India. Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce was established by a visionary named Shri Balarambhai Kshatriya in the year 1964 as Municipal Arts and Commerce College. It came into existence as a separate commerce college on 1st January, 1986 with the aim of imparting higher quality education in the new emerging and occupational areas of trade and commerce. After the sudden demise of Shri Anilbhai T. Patel, the former Chairman of Sardar Vidyabhavan Trust (SVT), Mehsana as well as Apollo Group of Industries, Mehsana two years back, the college is presently managed by the same trust under the pious chairmanship of a renowned politician named Shri Arvindbhai T. Patel and the holy leadership of an industrious industrialist and managing trustee Shri K. K. Patel and the devoted trustees as well. The college has been striving for excellence in all the spheres of life with the help of the visionary Managing Trustee Shri K. K. Patel, highly qualified trustees and the staff members of the Sardar Vidya Bhavan Trust since its inception. Sardar Vidya Bhavan Trust runs four colleges: 1. Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce, 2. Municipal Arts and Urban Bank Science College, 3. Swami Vivekanand Sarvoday Bank College of Education and 4. Shri S. M. Shah Law College. Ours is a grant-in-aid college affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the UGC act 2(f) and 12 (B). The college has also occupied the leading position among the commerce colleges affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. In comparison with the commerce colleges affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, it has the distinct status of obtaining the highest grade i. e. A Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). We stand first so far as the strength of the students and the number of subjects offered as principal and subsidiary are concerned. The college with its well defined goals and aspirations is not only committed to quality education but holistic education also. The college is located in Mehsana on the National Highway that connects all the major parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan including Delhi and northern states of India. Mehsana is well-known for The Milk City and The Oil City as well. It takes pride in having one of the biggest dairies of India named “The Dudh Sagar Dairy” which has brought about the white revolution in the North Gujarat region. The O.N.G.C. Project, situated in the vicinity of Mehsana district, has also made a significant contribution to the development of the city. There are two GIDCs in Mehsana – one on the highway and the other near the village named Dediyasan. The companies belonging to these two GIDCs enjoy the country-wide popularity for their worth-manufacturing products. Chhatral and Kadi are the other places where the large scale industries have been established.
