The Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management was established in 1980 by a group of emininent intellectuals and industrialists, led by Dr. M. V. V. S. Murthi, former Member of Parliament and popular philanthropist. Their goal, to bring to life Ma ar philanthropist. Their goal, to bring to life Mahatma Gandhi's vision of an institution for higher education that transcends all barriers. Life at GITAM is vibrant, bustling with energy and new experiences. Across its 3 campuses, GITAM offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to equip students with the right learning environment and dynamic student communities to promote co-curricular and recreational activities. National-level events and festivals are conducted on campus to help students pursue their ambitions, amplify their capabilities, and discover new interests. Our students are at the heart of life at GITAM. Our campuses are vibrant, thriving microcosms of life, with endless opportunities for learning, discussion, research and innovation. So at the end of their education at GITAM, every student leaves not just with a stellar academic education but as well-rounded indivuduals as well. Gandhiji’s view of education was not narrow or sectarian. The GITAM Foundation Award recognises outstanding contributions to the fields of Education, Economics, Science, Literature, Fine Arts, Public Service and more. The award was instituted by Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi, our Founder.
