College of Agriculture Tharad, SDAU

The College of Agriculture, Tharad was established as a constituent college of Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University (Erstwhile Gujarat Agricultural University) in September 2012 in the rented building. It was subsequently shifted to pr rented building. It was subsequently shifted to present two storeyed building on September 3, 2019. Food security and raising standard of living of farming community through development of agriculture. To create skilled manpower who can practically work on the farmers’ field and enhance agriculture. Agricultural professionals could link public and corporate sector. To impart higher education leading to bachelor degree in the field of agricultural sciences.  To create graduates by imparting quality education in the field of Agriculture and to impart scientific skills in students to cater the needs of growing Agricultural sector.  To develop efficient methods of transfer of technology.  To carry out research in the disciplines of Agriculture. The college has eight lecture rooms, conference halls, UG laboratories, Library, multimedia LCD projector to facilitate teaching activities. SDAU came into existence after quadruplicating of erstwhile GAU on 01 May, 2004 with jurisdiction covering seven districts namely; Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, and Kachchh. The main campus, Sardarkrushinagr located at foothills of ‘Aravalli’ mountain range is green, serene and picturesque place free form urban lub dub providing a perfect environment for education and research.
