WHEN HOSPITALITY ENCOUNTERS ADVERSITY: THE TRUTH OF NEPALSES HOMESTAY

Abstract

A multi-disciplinary study method applies to discover economic, culture, social, environmental, educational, and governmental parts of rural tourism in Nepal, aiming to contribution on reduction of poverty as well promotion of culture, education, environment, and community. Four identical homestay community from three different districts are selected to draw economics, environment, economics, education, safety, anthropology, and public administration measurements, a descriptive design alone with mixed method was routines where qualitative interview and field observations, quantitative surveys was scheduled. Income outline, resources use, and frequent conflict like issues was inside of qualitative and cultural exchange, environmental issues, government procedures, and education illuminated via qualitative methods. Finding show that homestay tourisms sufficiently support household’s income and strengthen cultural pride among congregation but also poses challenges such as disturbing school age students, youth relocation in town, environmental ruin, and sanitation and infrastructure shortages. This study underline needs to support administrative outfit of this business across local, province, and, national level, reform in digital accessibility, and infrastructure, hand up on education, language and culture interaction, and sustainable resource management. Also highlight synchronize government action and community participation to warrant adaptive management and impartial profits. These vision support forming compressive, community-driven policies for long-lasting homestay tourism in Nepal.
