Targeted Binding of Nitrogenous Waste Products Using Antibody-Coated Granules: A New Approach for CKD Management
Abstract
This study evaluates a novel antibody-functionalized psyllium granule formulation designed to bind and sequester uremic waste products, including urea, creatinine, and uric acid. Using serum samples from dialysis patients under controlled in vitro conditions, the S1 formulation demonstrated the strongest reduction in nitrogenous waste markers. The findings suggest a potential complementary strategy for reducing uremic toxin burden, pending further in vivo and clinical validation.
