Modification of Life Style in Myocardial Infarction Clients in Selected Hospitals at Guntur District
Abstract
Myocardial infarction (MI) remains a leading cause of mortality and morbidity globally, often driven by modifiable lifestyle factors. This descriptive study was conducted to assess the knowledge and adoption of lifestyle modifications among 60 MI patients across selected hospitals in Guntur District. Using a structured interview schedule, the research evaluated key areas including dietary habits, physical activity, smoking cessation, and stress management. The findings revealed that a significant portion of the participants possessed inadequate to moderate knowledge regarding post-MI lifestyle changes. The study concludes that there is a critical need for structured health education programs led by nursing professionals to empower patients with the necessary information to prevent recurrent cardiac events and improve long-term health outcomes.
