The Doctrine of Signatures is one of the most ancient and fascinating philosophies linking the physical characteristics of natural substances with their therapeutic potential it’s the concept that suggest the physical form, colour or other characteristics of a natural substance imply towards therapeutic value. Though this doctrine of signature originated centuries before the scientific foundation of Homoeopathy, its symbolic and observational insights have influenced the understanding of remedies in both traditional and modern contexts. This article explores the origins, philosophies, examples, criticism, and continuing relevance of the doctrine of signatures in contemporary Homoeopathic practice. Although it’s not a scientific law, it has historically influenced the development of Homoeopathic Materia Medica in various medical systems, including Homoeopathy.
