Database Performance: A Comparative Study and Findings

Abstract

This article elaborates and highlights the dramatic change in the performance of famous relational database management systems MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle. In this article I have tested and compared the performance these RDBMS which shows many fluctuations during the read / write operations over them using different front-ends. The performance in the form of read/write operation of one RDBMS is very good with a particular technology while the same is having remarkable slower performance with the other which shows that still there are the scope of doing some reliable work so that this performance gap can be fulfilled at some extent.
