A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding Climate Changes and Its Impact on Health among People in Selected Rural Areas
Abstract
A study titled “A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas” has been carried out as a partial fulfilment of required for being awarded the degree of the Master of Science in Nursing under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik Maharashtra. The Primary /general objective was To assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge related to climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas. To assess existing knowledge related to climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas, to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas, to associate the post test knowledge score regarding climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas with their selected demographic variables.. This study was based on quantitative research approach. The population was mothers of under five children those have staying in selected rural area. The Inclusion criteria Subjects willing to participate in the study, Subjects present at the time of data collection, Subjects who can understand Marathi and English and exclusion criteria is Subjects who have attended same educational program. The sampling technique used in the study was non-probability convenient sampling. The tool was structured knowledge questionnaire. The technique adopted was self-reporting. Content validity of the tool was done by 11 experts from nursing department, 2 from community medicine and 1 from statistician, suggestion proposed were incorporated in tool and appropriate changes were made. The reliability of scales was done by (split half method) Karl Pearson's formula. The investigator has conducted study from November 2024 in area by using non-probability convenient sampling technique. The investigator approached the subjects, informed regarding the objectives of the study and informed written consent were obtained after assuring the subjects about the confidentiality of the data. The pilot study was conducted from November 2024 in area as per laid down criteria 10 samples were selected by non-probability convenient Sampling technique who were available during the study period. The data gathering process for main study began after explaining the objectives and purpose of the study. Consent was obtained from each one of them for participant in the study. Test was given to “A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas”. MAJOR FINDING OF THE STUDY The major finding of the study result showed that among all subject, structured teaching majority of the participants Significance of the planned teaching reveals‘t’ value i.e., 70.350 are much higher than the tabulated value at 5% level of significance, interpreted that the knowledge score in pre and post test knowledge regarding climate changes and its impact on health among people in selected rural areas. has been improved. Mean standard deviation and mean difference values are compared between two means was applied at 5.08% level of significance.
