Abstract The Smart IV Drip Monitoring and Management System is an advanced medical device designed to enhance the precision, safety, and efficiency of intravenous (IV) fluid administration. Utilizing high-precision flow and volume sensors, the system continuously monitors the flow rate and volume of fluids administered to patients. A microcontroller processes this data in real-time, enabling automated adjustments to the flow rate through an integrated flow regulator. The system features a communication module for wireless data transmission to a central monitoring station and seamless integration with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring comprehensive and accurate patient documentation. An alert system promptly notifies healthcare providers of any deviations from prescribed parameters, facilitating timely interventions. The user interface includes a touchscreen display for local monitoring and control. The primary objectives of this invention are to improve patient safety, reduce the burden on healthcare providers, and enhance the overall efficiency of IV therapy management.
