About
Currently working as a n Assistant Professor (since July, 200 9) and before this assignment worked as Lecturer in DAV College Jalandhar , Punjab. [July 2007 -December 2007] , Honorary Lecturer for Environment Education and Awareness program conducted by SGGS College, Chandigarh for the session 2009 to 2015. In year 2010 a Minor Research Project was sanctioned by UGC entitled : In Silico Designing of Potent Ligand Against 2 Adrenoceptor with an amount of Rs 200000/ -. Dr. Var Ruchi Sharma has excellent teaching skills and has great scientific acumen with outstanding research accomplishments in the field of Bioinformatics , especially in Molecular Model ing & Drug Designing. He has contributed immensely to the field of Cancer Biology especial ly in reference to Breast Cancer . He was able to design a library of molecules that are ready for synthesis and further to use in -vivo studies. He has recently published a patent Invention: In-Silico Designed And Optimized Lead Inhibiting Breast Cancer mTOR FRB Domain Substrate Recruitment Mechanism (Application No. 201811029632 Dated: 2018/08/07 ). This invention relates to the designing of a best possible, effective lead molecule for the treatment of breast cancer. Being one of the most frequently activ ated pathway in cancer, much effort has been directed towards reticence of P13K/AKT/mTOR pathway as a unique oncological therapeutic initiative. mTOR/FRB Domains recruitment cleft as well as substrate recruitment mechanism was targeted using structural ba sed approach. A series of selective inhibitory small molecules has been designed and screened for the best inhibiting target binding triad of FRB Domain with better ADME and no detectable toxic effects. mTORC1 complex compelled modeling of FRB domain of mT OR to achieve right mix of chemical and structural complementarity in ligand. Substrate recruiting triad was targeted with irreversible binding to arrest the substrate recruiting mechanism and hence inhibition of mTOR. Understudy library of developed ligan ds candidates were screened and the most suitable candidate with enough binding energy and biosafety.
