About
Sunday Usman is a Ph.D. student with a major in Systems and Industrial Engineering and a minor in Data Science and Statistics. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Production Engineering at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on life cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, and GIS-based supply chain optimization for sustainable value recovery from critical minerals, rare earth elements (REEs), and municipal solid waste (MSW). Furthermore, he has collaborated with researchers at AMP Robotics, Idaho National Lab, and Case Western Reserve University to evaluate the environmental impact of emerging technologies on MSW identification, characterization, waste-to-energy conversion, and the recovery of REEs in the United States.
