Dr. Rakesh Ranjan Thakur, Ph.D., is an accomplished researcher specializing in Space Science Applications, with expertise in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, GIS Development, and Disaster Management. Currently serving as a Geoscientist at the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, he integrates Remote Sensing and Geospatial technologies for disaster preparedness, mitigation, and environmental assessment. Dr. Thakur's career spans significant roles including Junior Scientist at Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC)/ISRO and Visiting Faculty at KiiT University. He holds a Ph.D. in Coastal Applications using Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics from Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University. His dedication to scientific research is evident through numerous publications, project involvements, and academic contributions.
