R. Kavitha

Dr. R Kavitha is an Assistant Professor with Department of Social Work, PSG College of Arts & Science. As a Rank holder and meritorious student of Social Work, PSGCAS, started her professional journey with Mafoi Management & Consultant as HR Executive, She has over 10 years of teaching experience in Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, and around 6 years as a researcher in Department of Social Work, PSGCAS. She received Grants from National Commission for Women, New Delhi to organize Legal Awareness Programme, from Hand in Hand, NGO Chennai to carry out study on Solid Waste Management in the Blocks of Coimbatore and from Tata Insititue of Social Sciences Mumbai to carry out Community based Assessment at Tata Tea, Valpari. She served as Resource person for various training programmes organized by National Institute of Social Defence, New Delhi, Central Board of Workers Education, Department of Women Studies, Bharathidasan University, National Commission for women, Amirta University, etc., and organized National Level Workshop on Research Methodology and National Conference on Conflicts and Challenges faced by Contemporary Women in India. She is Currently Advisory & Executive Committee Member of Central Government Scheme JNNURM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Rural Mission) for Coimbatore District from 2012 to till date. She was Editorial Board member in VERVE PSGCAS Journal of Arts & Humanities and organized workshop for Research Scholars on Art of Publishing Articles. She was Awarded for maximum usage of e- learning (Myklassroom portal). She has around presented 26 papers in National and International conferences / seminars in nationally reputed Institutions like Tata Institute of Social Sciences, S V University etc., and attended more than 15 workshops organized by reputed institutions like Tata Institute of Social Sciences, National Institute of Social Defence etc.. Apart from the above she is actively associated and organised various Guest Lecture Programmes and carried out many Community Outreach Activities with Leading Government Agencies and NGOs like National Child Labour Project (NCLP), Helpage India, District Aids Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU), Integrated Counseling & Testing Centre, Isha Foundation, Hand in Hand India etc.,
