Timo works at the Institute for Sex Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. As an Associate Professor, Timo is head of the Outpatient Unit for Sexual Health and Transgender Care. Timo does Health Services Research for sexual and gender minorities, is PI of the eHealth project i2TransHealth and local Host of the upcoming conference of the European Professional Association for Transgender Health (EPATH), Sept 2025 in Hamburg, Germany. Timo O. Nieder, PhD, ECPS is head of the outpatient unit for sexual health and transgender care and coordinator teaching at the Institute of Sex Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry, University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). As a psychologist by teaching, Timo qualified as Associate Professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg. Timo co-founded the Interdisciplinary Transgender Health Care Centre (ITHCCH) at the UKE and co-chairs the German guideline for transgender health care. Timo (co-)authored 45 PubMed-listed research papers and more than 100 publications in total. Timo is board member of the European Professional Association.
