I am Dr. Filza Shaukat, a PhD-qualified Physiotherapist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Lahore, where I have been serving for over 14 years. My academic career encompasses teaching, research, student mentoring, curriculum development, and academic administration.
My research interests primarily focus on geriatric rehabilitation, balance disorders, postural control, falls prevention, exercise therapy, and evidence-based physiotherapy. My PhD research investigated the effectiveness of a Multisegmental Individual-Based Exercise (MIBEX) approach for improving balance, postural dysfunction, and physical function among older adults. I have published research in internationally recognized journals, including a Q1 journal (JMIR Aging), reflecting my commitment to high-quality scientific research.
