Compressive strength study of fly ash mortar
I have used fly - ash from all the 5 hoppers which are used in a thermal power plant and Mortar was prepared in the ratio of 1:3 and the cement was replaced by fly -ash in the percentages of 12.5%, 25% and 37.5%. The proportion of mix was same f or the fly -ash from all 5 hoppers but with different water contents & the strength was calculated for 7, 28 and 90 days. From result the mix becomes economic owing to the use of higher percentages of fly ash and reduction in quantity of cement. Use of fly ash also reduces the heat of hydration and early shrinkage cracks.
Comparative study in the analysis of multistory RCC structure by using different types of concentric bracing system
by using ETABs software. For this G+10 building with plan area of 900 m2 area selected and building was located in seismic zone V. The bracing has been provided only for external frames. The value obtained for maximum joint displacement, shear force, bending moment, axia l force was compared for different bracing system. From result it was found that the performance of the X and inverted V bracing system is better than other specified bracing system.
