Road traffic accidents have been recognized as one of those adverse elements which contribute to the suffocation of economic growth in the developing countries, due to the high cost related to them, hence causing social and economic concern. So Traffic safety is an important key and integral role in sustainable transportation development areas. Now days, the main negative impact of modern road transportation systems are injuries and deaths in road accidents. The success of traffic safety and highway improvement programs hinges on the analysis of accurate and reliable traffic accident data. This study discusses the identification of high rate accident locations and remedial measures to those accidental locations (Black Spots) and provisions for traffic safety.

Trend is the broad long term tendency of either upward or downward movement in the average value of the forecast variable over time. The operational and financial data from the quarterly performance reports published by CIRT journal, Pune for BEST, KSRTC and BMTC were collected and compiled in MICROSOFT EXCEL. The variation of each cost component with respect to the time scale was then studied and the trend relationships were established through simple curve-fitting techniques using SPSS20 (Statistical Package for Social Scientists, Version 20) software. The characteristics of the trend curves and seasonal indices developed are stored in the data bases. The database created using MS Access and those data are retrieved to a front end using Visual studio. VP expert is a programming language which is connected to these database and the forecast of the operational and financial parameters can effectively done. This module can help to the transportation managers in their decision making in instant of time.

The land use and land cover studies performed to the SSIT college campus Tumkur. The prime importance of the project is to create an information system of land use and land cover in the campus on a GIS platform. The data regarding water quality, area of the campus, built up area, details of college branches and corresponding students details, road area, hostel students details, open space area etc are collected and incorporated to GIS platform using MAP INFO PROFFESSIONAL software. The details of land use and land cover can be retrieved instantly using this GIS platform.
