Real-Time Data Integration Strategies Using SAP HANA and ABAP: Bridging Silos in Enterprise Information Systems
Abstract
As enterprise landscapes grow increasingly complex, the demand for real-time data integration has become a key driver for maintaining competitive advantage. SAP HANA, with its powerful in-memory capabilities, combined with ABAP, the backbone of SAP application development, offers innovative ways to streamline data flows across various systems. This paper explores strategies for implementing real-time data integration using SAP HANA and ABAP. The objective is to bridge data silos that hinder business processes by enabling a unified and cohesive information ecosystem. We examine the technical challenges, including data synchronization, system performance, and security risks, while also addressing key integration strategies like Smart Data Integration (SDI), SAP HANA Smart Data Access (SDA), and ABAP-managed database procedures (AMDP). Furthermore, real-world case studies of successful SAP HANA-ABAP implementations in enterprises are discussed to provide actionable insights for achieving seamless integration across heterogeneous data sources.
