Abstract
This article examines the social impact of past industrial revolutions and then tries to draw potential conclusions on the impact of Artificial intelligence in the ongoing 4th industrial revolution. The hypothesis focuses on key dilemmas that we face, especially with the relationship of emerging technologies to socio economic factors like employment, financial inclusion and education. The article explains the key changes in the past industrial revolutions and how they impacted productivity. With that, it brings light to opportunities 4th industrial revolution presents us before diving into the potential impact of AI on employment, reskilling and upskilling required in the workforce. Research also explains how emerging technology like AI will impact inequality and poverty. Then it describes important sectors like Agriculture, Education and financial inclusion that could benefit from Artificial Intelligence. Finally, the article concludes on an optimistic note of positive social impacts Artificial Intelligence can bring to humans.
