Journal Descriptions

Zeitschrift für Evangelische Ethik (ZEE) is a respected peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the study of Protestant (Evangelical) ethics and its application to contemporary social, political, and cultural issues. Founded in 2002, the journal serves as an important platform for scholarly discourse in theological ethics within German-speaking academia and beyond. The journal publishes research articles, essays, and reviews addressing moral philosophy, Christian ethics, bioethics, economic ethics, and political responsibility from a Protestant theological perspective. It engages with current global challenges such as human rights, environmental ethics, social justice, and technological change, providing a bridge between theological reflection and real-world ethical debates. ZEE encourages interdisciplinary dialogue, incorporating perspectives from philosophy, sociology, law, and political science. Contributions are primarily in German, with occasional international input. The journal is widely read by theologians, ethicists, clergy, and scholars interested in religion’s role in modern society.
