Journal Descriptions

Women and Politics was a peer reviewed international academic journal dedicated to the study of women, gender, and political processes at local, national, and global levels. The journal published original research articles, theoretical analyses, policy studies, and review essays examining the role of women in political institutions, governance, public leadership, and political movements. It served as an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, and activists engaged in gender and political studies. The journal covered a broad range of topics including women’s political participation, representation in government, feminist political theory, electoral behavior, public policy, political leadership, human rights, political activism, international gender issues, and the impact of social and cultural structures on women’s political experiences. It encouraged comparative and cross national perspectives that explored gender dynamics within democratic systems and political institutions worldwide. Published by Taylor and Francis, Women and Politics contributed significantly to the development of feminist political scholarship and gender focused policy analysis. The journal played an important role in advancing understanding of political equality and women’s representation in governance. It later continued under the title Journal of Women, Politics and Policy, expanding its scope in contemporary gender and policy research.
