Journal Descriptions

Wittgenstein-Studien is an international peer reviewed academic journal dedicated to research on the philosophy and intellectual legacy of Ludwig Wittgenstein. The journal publishes scholarly articles, critical essays, historical studies, book reviews, and interdisciplinary analyses related to Wittgenstein’s works, analytic philosophy, philosophy of language, logic, epistemology, ethics, and the history of modern philosophy. It serves as an important platform for philosophers, researchers, and academics engaged in Wittgenstein scholarship and contemporary philosophical inquiry. The journal encourages contributions exploring both early and later phases of Wittgenstein’s thought, including interpretations of the Tractatus Logico Philosophicus and Philosophical Investigations. It also welcomes comparative and interdisciplinary studies connecting Wittgenstein’s ideas with linguistics, psychology, mathematics, cultural theory, literary studies, and cognitive science. Published in Germany, Wittgenstein-Studien is associated with the International Ludwig Wittgenstein Society and contributes significantly to ongoing international discussions in analytic and continental philosophy. The journal promotes rigorous philosophical scholarship and historical research while fostering dialogue among scholars working in diverse areas of contemporary thought. Its publications are recognized as valuable resources within philosophy and humanities research communities worldwide.
