Journal Descriptions

The UNIZIK Journal of Religion and Human Relations (UJRHR) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of Religion and Human Relations at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. The journal evolved from the earlier Journal of Religion and Human Relations (established in 2008) and was rebranded under its current title in 2022 to reflect its institutional identity. UJRHR provides a scholarly platform for the dissemination of research in religion, theology, and human relations, with a particular focus on African contexts and global perspectives. It publishes original research articles, review papers, and theoretical contributions that examine the role of religion in shaping social values, ethics, culture, and interpersonal relationships. The journal covers diverse areas such as biblical studies, African traditional religion, interfaith dialogue, religion and society, ethics, and philosophical reflections on human existence. It encourages interdisciplinary approaches that connect religion with sociology, history, and cultural studies. All submissions undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic rigor, originality, and relevance. The journal contributes to intellectual discourse by addressing contemporary societal challenges through religious and humanistic perspectives, promoting peace, ethical values, and sustainable human development.
