Journal Descriptions
Thought and Practice: A Journal of the Philosophical Association of Kenya is a peer reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing philosophical inquiry with a strong emphasis on African perspectives. The journal provides a platform for scholars to engage in critical reflection on both classical and contemporary philosophical issues, while promoting dialogue between African and global philosophical traditions. The scope of the journal includes a wide range of philosophical disciplines such as ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, political philosophy, and logic. It particularly encourages contributions that explore African thought systems, indigenous knowledge, and the philosophical dimensions of social, cultural, and political challenges facing African societies. The journal publishes original research articles, discussion papers, and book reviews that contribute to theoretical and applied philosophy. It aims to foster intellectual exchange among scholars, students, and practitioners, and to support the development of philosophy as a discipline in Africa and beyond. By maintaining rigorous peer review standards and an open access policy, Thought and Practice ensures accessibility and academic quality.
