The Chinese Journal of Global Governance (CJGG)
Journal Descriptions
The Chinese Journal of Global Governance was a peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on the evolving role of China in global governance systems. Launched in 2015 and published by Brill | Nijhoff, the journal provided a platform for scholarly discussion on international law, global policy frameworks, and governance institutions from both Chinese and international perspectives. The journal emphasized interdisciplinary research covering areas such as international trade law, transnational regulation, global economic governance, environmental governance, and multilateral institutions. It particularly highlighted China’s participation in shaping global governance structures, including initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and engagement with international organizations. Articles published in the journal included original research papers, theoretical analyses, and case studies addressing contemporary global challenges. Contributions often explored the interaction between domestic legal frameworks in China and international norms, providing comparative and policy-relevant insights. Despite its academic relevance and international editorial board, the journal eventually ceased publication around 2020. However, it remains a useful archival source for research on China’s role in global governance during the mid-2010s.
