Studia Mythologica Slavica is an international peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to the study of Slavic mythology, traditional culture, folklore, and related interdisciplinary fields. Established in 2015, the journal is jointly published by the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) and the University of Udine. It provides an important platform for researchers investigating the mythological, religious, linguistic, archaeological, ethnological, and cultural traditions of Slavic peoples and other ethnic groups. The journal encourages comparative studies that place Slavic culture within broader European and non-European contexts. It publishes original research articles, reviews, source analyses, and interdisciplinary studies dealing with belief systems, oral traditions, spiritual culture, narrative heritage, ancient religions, and contemporary cultural transformations. Articles are published in English, German, Italian, and various Slavic languages, making the journal accessible to a broad international audience.
