Journal Descriptions

Studia Historiae Oeconomicae (SHO) is an international peer-reviewed academic journal established in 1967 by Professors Czesław Łuczak and Jerzy Topolski. Published by Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the journal focuses on economic and social history and serves as a platform for historians, economists, sociologists, and other social scientists interested in studying economic life within its broader social and cultural context. The journal promotes interdisciplinary research and encourages contributions that examine both historical and contemporary socio-economic phenomena from historical, economic, and sociological perspectives. Particular emphasis is placed on economic history, social history, history of economics, and the development of societies in Central and Eastern Europe. SHO publishes original research articles, review papers, and theoretical studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of economic and social transformations. The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and is recognized internationally for its commitment to high-quality scholarship. It provides an important forum for researchers worldwide to exchange ideas and present innovative studies on socio-economic history and related disciplines.
