Storia della Critica d’Arte. Annuario della S.I.S.C.A. ETS was first published in 2018 by Scalpendi in Milan. Now an annual occurrence, this inaugural issue marked the beginning of its role as the official organ of the S.I.S.C.A. (Associazione Italiana di Storia della Critica d'Arte ETS), the President of which took on the position of Editor-in-Chief, while its Steering Committee became a constitutive part of the magazine’s scientific panel. The journal is outstanding in its methodological awareness and the richness of its content, as well as the punctuality of its publication and its meticulous editorial care. An unparalleled voice within the panorama of academic journals for the many driving forces at the heart of the disciplinary sector which includes not only the history of art criticism but also collecting and museology and the history of artistic technique and restoration, the journal has obtained “Fascia A” recognition in accordance with the parameters for periodicals set by ANVUR (Agenzia Nazionale per la Valutazione della Ricerca.) The periodical prides itself on both a militant vocation and a broad cultural scope, demonstrated by the fact that the Scientific Committee has subsequently been extended to include eminent scholars, both men and women, from the international community. It is our unwavering mission to infuse life and power into interest in criticism, understood in its truest and most authentic meaning of cultural choice. For this reason, it is our policy to foster the coexistence of contributions offered by scholars of recognized prestige alongside papers submitted by young researchers.
