South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases (SAJBMC)
Journal Descriptions
The South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases (SAJBMC) is an internationally accessible, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published in collaboration with the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida, India, and SAGE Publications. It was launched in 2012 as a dedicated outlet for qualitative case study research that addresses real-world business and management challenges within South Asia and beyond. Unlike typical case journals that publish teaching cases, SAJBMC focuses on rigorous qualitative research cases that explore “how” and “why” questions in organizational and management contexts, contribute to theoretical insights, and deepen understanding of complex phenomena such as strategy implementation, innovation management, institutional change, and organizational dynamics. The journal’s scope includes various types of manuscripts within qualitative case study research: phenomenon-based cases, phenomenon extension, theory building, review studies suggesting new research directions, and methodological studies that advance case research practice. This emphasis on rich qualitative data, theoretical anchoring, and contextual depth makes SAJBMC a valuable resource for academics, practitioners, and doctoral researchers interested in grounded case evidence that bridges theory and practice. The journal is indexed in databases including Scopus, enhancing its visibility within the fields of business and management research.
