Sociétés (Sociétés)
Journal Descriptions
For more than 20 years, Sociétés has become an echo of discussions on the epistemology of the social sciences, and of the interrogation of emerging fields and related phenomena. The objective of this journal is to render themes related to the capturing of contemporary imaginations more visible and focus attention on the effects of everyday life. For over 20 years and through almost a hundred issues, Sociétés magazine has provided an open, interdisciplinary space for the humanities and social sciences. Resolutely oriented towards international collaborations, Sociétés has echoed discussions on the epistemology of the social sciences, as well as field research and emerging phenomena. Foreign authors, notably from Brazil, Korea, the United States, Italy and Germany, play an important role... The themes of the sociology of the imaginary and everyday life play an important role. The journal includes a coordinated dossier, margins and a number of reviews of French and foreign-language activities, works and publications. The editorial board - which includes E. Morin, M. Maffesoli, P. Watier, A. Gras... - has chosen to publish historical and sometimes unpublished texts (Simmel, Guyau, Durkheim...), contemporary authors (Baudrillard, Ferrarotti, Fabbri...) and young researchers.
