Památky archeologické is one of the oldest continuously published archaeological journals in Europe and has served the international archaeological community since 2009. Published by the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, the journal is a peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access publication dedicated to advancing archaeological research and related disciplines. It publishes original research articles, review papers, excavation reports, methodological studies, and critical book reviews with particular emphasis on Central European archaeology while also welcoming contributions from international archaeological projects. The journal covers prehistoric, protohistoric, medieval, and historical archaeology, as well as archaeometry, bioarchaeology, environmental archaeology, anthropology, and heritage studies. All articles undergo rigorous peer review to ensure high scientific quality and originality. Since 2015, the journal has been freely accessible online under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence, allowing worldwide access without article processing charges. Památky archeologické is indexed in major international databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, ERIH PLUS, EBSCO, and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory, making it an important source of archaeological scholarship. The journal is published annually in English, Czech, German, and Slovak and continues to contribute significantly to archaeological research and cultural heritage studies across Europe and beyond.
