ORiON (ORiON)
Journal Descriptions
ORiON is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the advancement of operations research and its practical applications. It is the official journal of the Operations Research Society of South Africa and serves as an important platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in quantitative decision-making and optimization techniques. The journal publishes high-quality original research papers, review articles, and case studies that address real-world problems using operations research methodologies. These include optimization, simulation, decision analysis, mathematical modeling, logistics, supply chain management, and data analytics. ORiON places a strong emphasis on applied research that demonstrates the impact of operations research in industry, government, and public services. While the journal has a strong regional focus on Africa, particularly South Africa, it welcomes international contributions and promotes global collaboration. It aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by encouraging submissions that showcase innovative solutions to complex decision-making problems.
