The Nigerian Journal of Surgery publishes original articles, special articles (by invitation), reviews, case reports, correspondences and notes. Materials cited for publication will include scientific research papers read at the meetings of the Nigerian Surgical Research Society, and of the Association of Surgeons of Nigeria and the abstracts of those meetings. Suitable papers not presented at the meetings are also welcome.The journal publishes original research articles, clinical studies, case reports, review articles, and technical notes covering a wide range of surgical specialties such as general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive procedures. It also emphasizes research relevant to developing countries, especially in addressing surgical challenges in resource-limited settings. NJS follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality and credibility. It is an open-access journal, increasing accessibility to global researchers and practitioners. The journal has gained international visibility through indexing in databases such as DOAJ and PubMed Central. Since its establishment, it has contributed significantly to surgical education, postgraduate training, and evidence-based clinical practice in Nigeria and beyond.
