Minerva Stomatologica (MS)
Journal Descriptions
Minerva Stomatologica was an international peer reviewed journal dedicated to the advancement of dentistry, oral surgery, oral medicine, and maxillofacial sciences. Established in 1952, it served as the official journal of the Italian Society of Odontostomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery and published high quality original research articles, systematic reviews, clinical studies, case reports, technical notes, and expert opinions. The journal focused on improving clinical practice through evidence based research in preventive, restorative, and surgical dentistry. Its scope included oral pathology, implantology, prosthodontics, periodontology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, oral radiology, oral microbiology, and maxillofacial surgery. The journal also emphasized innovations in diagnostic techniques, biomaterials, digital dentistry, and minimally invasive treatment approaches. Articles were published in Italian and English, with English becoming the primary publication language in its later years to increase international visibility. The journal was indexed in major biomedical databases, including MEDLINE and PubMed during much of its publication history. In 2021, it was continued under the new title Minerva Dental and Oral Science, reflecting an expanded international focus while maintaining its commitment to high quality dental research.
