Mikrobiolohichnyi Zhurnal is one of Ukraine's oldest and most respected peer-reviewed scientific journals in the fields of microbiology and related biological sciences. Founded in 1993, the journal serves as an international platform for the publication of original research articles, reviews, short communications, and analytical papers covering microbiology, virology, biotechnology, immunology, molecular biology, and cytology. The journal is published in open-access format and follows a single-blind peer-review process. The journal focuses on both fundamental and applied aspects of microbiological research. Its scope includes general, soil, industrial, environmental, and medical microbiology; microbial genetics and biochemistry; physiology of microorganisms; experimental mycology; virology; biotechnology; and the development of biologically active compounds of microbial origin. Research on the use of microorganisms for environmental protection and sustainable biotechnology is also welcomed. Published by the Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the journal is indexed in major databases including Scopus, EBSCO, CrossRef, Google Scholar, and other international indexing services.
