Microbiological Research is publishes research on prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms such as yeasts, fungi, bacteria, archaea, and protozoa. The journal considers research on interactions between pathogenic microorganisms and their environment or hosts. The research should be original and include molecular aspects to generate broad interest. Papers of specialised or of preliminary and descriptive content will normally not be considered.
