Mediterranean Marine Science (MMS)
Journal Descriptions
Mediterranean Marine Science is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, short communications, and special issue papers covering all aspects of marine science, with particular emphasis on the Mediterranean Sea and adjacent marine regions. The journal serves as a multidisciplinary platform for researchers studying marine ecosystems, biodiversity, oceanographic processes, fisheries, conservation, and environmental management. The journal welcomes contributions in biological, chemical, geological, and physical oceanography, as well as marine ecology, marine pollution, invasive species, aquaculture, fisheries management, and coastal resource sustainability. It aims to enhance scientific understanding of marine environments and support evidence-based management and conservation of marine resources. Research addressing the impacts of climate change, anthropogenic pressures, and ecosystem restoration is particularly encouraged. Published by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, the journal provides immediate open access to all published content, ensuring broad dissemination of scientific findings. It is indexed in major international databases including Web of Science, Scopus, Biological Abstracts, ASFA, and DOAJ, making it a valuable resource for marine scientists, environmental managers, and policymakers worldwide.
