Medical Innovation & Business (MIB) is a new journal dedicated to providing guidance on the entrepreneurial business of drug and medical device development. The MIB editorial board and authors are experienced entrepreneurs and leaders in the field. They represent a diverse group of viewpoints ranging from entrepreneurial physicians and scientists who have actually developed successful businesses, to university administrators and technology transfer officers who must decide which inventions get university support to commercialize, and to venture capitalists who decide which discoveries are worth their time and money.MIB content includes case studies and articles by subject matter experts along with perspectives of inventors, investors, and leaders in biomedical science on the commercialization process from “inspiration to incorporation’. Areas of special focus include drugs, medical devices, and medical information technology.The intended audience for MIB includes university-based researchers, pharmaceutical industry professionals, biotechnology industry professionals, medical device manufacturers, technology transfer officers, patent attorneys and venture capital professionals.
