Lumières explores the issues and legacies of the 18th-century Enlightenment. Multidisciplinary, it combines history, literature, philosophy and aesthetics. Every six months, it publishes an issue featuring a thematic dossier, a forum for debate and a book review section. Lumières is a biannual peer-reviewed journal on the Enlightenment during the 18th century; it deals with the main issues of this period and with its legacy up to the present day. Lumières is specialized in the history of ideas and the history of representations; the journal goes beyond disciplinary boundaries and brings together history, French literature as well as literature of other areas, philosophy, and aesthetics. This journal is structured in four parts: a part dedicated to papers on a specific topic; a Forum part, intended for discussions, controversies, particular points of view, actually a kind of free forum that can be used by scholars; a Varia part, and finally a Review part which is dedicated to book reviews and to reading notes. Lumières is a biannual journal on the Enlightenment from the 18th century to the present day. It is a journal of the history of ideas and representations, which transcends disciplinary barriers and combines history, French literature and literature from all other geographical areas, philosophy and aesthetics. The magazine is divided into four sections: a thematic Dossier, a more flexible Forum section for discussions, controversies and special points of view, a sort of free forum for researchers, a Varia section and finally a Recension section devoted to book reviews and reading notes.
